The first record of Bulwer’s Petrel in the Seychelles has now been verified and authenticated. The sighting was made on June 15, 2009 by David Andrews, and Jennifer Love and Martyn Hammers on Cousin Island. The bird was later captured and ringed. Photographs, measurements and ring details were provided to the Seychelles Bird Records Committee for identification and authentication.

Italian visitors to Cousin Island Special Reserve now have access to information on the island in their own language thanks to Prof. Massimo Pandolfi of the University of Urbino and the Seychelles Heritage Conservation Study Group. |

John Collie passed away at the Ayrshire Hospice, Ayr, Scotland at 11:10 am on December 30th 2009. John, a popular and well known personality in Seychelles was active in conservation for many years. |

It's been a very exciting time for the Turtle monitoring team on Cousin Island in the past couple of months. Nearly two months of waiting are over and hundreds of nests have hatched and the brand new baby hawksbill turtles been born. Alongside the hatchlings, the monitoring team has also retrieved data from 30 nests through a pilot program looking at how cool or hot the nests are. The data was retrieved from temperature data loggers that were buried in the nest during laying.
